PLYMOUTH’S famous old Palace Theatre has been overtaken by nature – but thankfully someone with a head for heights is fighting back.
Work has begun to make the former Dance Academy site safe and watertight, and yesterday project manager Dave Welsh took to the skies in a cherry picker to remove weeds and plants growing out of the roof.
Mr Welsh has vowed to redesign the Grade II* listed building as part of a major project with the charity GO Together.
GO Together are also using the redevelopment as an opportunity to train apprentices and provide placements for offenders.
They have asked for “anybody who holds the Palace close to their hearts to do anything they can to help”.
